I understand the mechanics of how it works, what I am upset about is the flavor behind it. That is instead of, say, locking down an enemy by encasing them in crystal, or locking them in magic chains, or stunning them with a flash of light, the idea behind the seduction ability is (I am assuming) that she is so pretty that enemies just stop and are stunned
I will write a longer-ish post about this but consider this:
Why does her ability work on other women? Children? Monsters? Robots?
But really the critical point is this:
Why has no one made a character with a seduction ability that is male? Why is there no incubus analog to the video game succubus?
My assumption is that, similar to how people raged at how Anders in DA2 will always flirt with you, male characters being “seduced” by another male character would just be farrr too fucking gay
It is a ridiculous amount of straight male assumption, and it completely others those not in that box.
Now, it isn’t just this one instance that does this: arguing that would be stupid. Instead, I am upset about the symptomatic prevalence of this trope. In fact, I said as much!
However, I guess arguing about feminism with the League of Legends community, a community that regularly begins games by saying things like “YOU FUKKING READY TO FIGHT NEGGAR FAGGOTS?” is like trying to yell at the ocean.
